All workwear distributed by SOCIM is 100% cotton. Being a natural fibre, it guarantees comfort and healthiness. The garments of the MECCANO line are Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). They are labelled with the CE mark as they comply with the requirements prescribed by the Directive 89/686/EC (in terms of ergonomics, non-harmlessness, comfort, ventilation, flexibility and water-resistance) and subsequent amendments, relevant to Personal Protective Equipment, implemented with Legislative Decree no. 475/92. They are garments suitable for activities exposed to slight hazards (small abrasions, solar rays, wind, non-harmful dusts, soiling) that do not require a protection level higher than that of Personal Protection Equipment of Class 1 as defined in Legislative Decree no. 475 of 4.12.1992. The presence of the CE mark guarantees the absolute quality and homogeneity of materials. Besides the traditional cotton clothing, the MECCANO line includes items for specific uses: fire retardant clothing, kevlar clothing, fustian clothing. |

Casual wear at work too. |

The garments of the SHINE line are Class II Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The items of the SHINE line are suitable to be used in presence of low visibility hazards or in conditions where the presence of the wearer must be highly visible (e.g. roadworks, airports, etc.), since they can provide the user with high visibility in dangerous situations in any conditions of daylight or when exposed to vehicle lights in darkness. The SHINE line also includes garments meeting the technical standard prENV343, which certifies water-resistance and breathability features. |
 |
The recent directives covering road safety provide that drivers should, if necessary, wear an appropriate high-visibility garment. The Safedriver vest is the appropriate answer to emergency situations on the road. The vest complies with the requirements set out in EN471 for personal protection equipment against low visibility hazards and permits the wearer to be detected correctly in all conditions of light, both at night and by day. |
 |
The clothing of the DRY line guarantees maximum resistance to water and bad weather. Abrasion- and tear-resistant materials make these garments ideal in adverse meteorological conditions. Thermosealed seams provide further protection against rain and wind. |

The gloves commercialised by SOCIM are Personal Protective Equipment under the existing law. In fact, the European Directive 89/686/EC, adopted by the member countries of the European Union and implemented in the Italian legislation with Legislative Decree no. 475 of 4.12.92, specifies the fundamental requirements which must be met by all the devices designed to protect from work hazards (Personal Protective Equipment) sold on the European market: standards are defined for performances, glove sizes, harmlessness of the materials, ease of handling, marks, mode of packing, quality control, maintenance and storage. All the Personal Protective Equipment must be commercialised together with the informative note with instructions for use, to allow the user to make a correct selection of the most appropriate device for his needs. Protection gloves can be commercialised on the European market only after a notified body has verified their compliance with the European Directive’s requirements. Besides the minimum requirements of ergonomics and manufacturing, a glove can be designed to protect from specific hazards (mechanical, chemical, biological, heat). These features must undergo a check by a notified body, according to the provisions of the European technical standards relating to the corresponding type of risk. |
